Keith Sweetman, whose son Aaron Pajich died at the hands of sadistic killers Jemma Lilley and Trudi Lenon on June 13, 2016, received the payment in May, but the reasons behind it have only recently been made public.

Mr Pajich, who had lived with his father and step-mother prior to his death, was stabbed and buried in a shallow grave by the women, with his body found less than a week after the teenager had been reported missing.

During the murder trial, Lilley and Lenon blamed each other for the horrific killing, but it took a jury less than three hours to find both women guilty.
